One of my friends bought my 59 Kay archtop rat-rod guitar back - TopicsExpress

One of my friends bought my 59 Kay archtop rat-rod guitar back when I needed the $$ for a transmission rebuild. The other day he called me because he needed to raise a little fast cash and was looking to sell off part of his collection. Im still so broke that I can hardly pay attention, but we swung a deal to trade my Takamine EG463SC and $100 for the Kay. (The Tak is a much easier EBay sell). A hundred bucks was a pinch, but I had written the Kay off as gone for good. I even threw in a vintage Morley wah that I never use because I felt as though I was robbing him. Im gonna give Kay another makeover (I think its #4 since I found her back in 1994). This time I plan on stripping her back to bare wood and just laying some satin poly on her, then replacing the single Seymour Duncan hot wound P-90 @ the bridge with a pair of Epiphone humbuckers I scavenged from one of my cookie tin builds. I still have the original 2 pickup volume/tone/switch rig that came from the factory as well as the pick-guard (though that has seen better days). Given that I have a few days available, I should have her done soon. I generally dont have much of an attachment to things, but some things seem to have soul... Oh yea, and then theres this song... https://youtube/watch?v=rv8JKCqWVOo
