One of my friends is an editor at Fairfax [owners of Stuff website and the Dominion Post] and she has told me that behind the scenes the bosses of Fairfax are open that their goal is to get John Key re-elected. This is my attempt at seeing how they are going about it This article accurately skewers how the corrupt corporate owned right wing media go about manipulating public opinion by constantly re interpreting events to suit their owners favoured narrative, the problem is, judging by the amount of people I run into who seem to be hypnotised, it appears to work. Even when the labour candidate wins, there is something wrong with him, even when key lies or behaves badly, he is the good guy and we are all supposed to like him. This, along with Hoskings appalling pro national moderation and the number of dishonest right wing voices in our media in general, is nothing short of corruption of our democracy by vested interest, masquerading as informed unbiased analysis. It is criminal. And yet,the electoral commision forbids a satirical song about Key and the National party to be aired because what? It might unduly influence the election? But blatant bias in our media is somehow okay? This country is so corrupt it doesnt even know it, it considers itself transparent. Well its transparently corrupt.
