One of my greatest memories in life - performing at the 1989 Chervona Ruta Music Festival in Chernivtsi, Ukraine … thanks to Victor Lishchyna for posting the video. By the way, Vic - nice high-five at the end ;) A fan’s video camera captured a performance, which UkrainianSSR State Radio and Television did not want to show Ukrainians … Musicians perform Разом (Razom/Visions), the theme song of Edmontons Festval 88, during a concert by the Іноземці і.е. artists from outside Ukraine, at the Chervona Ruta Festival, Ukraine, 1989. The year before various artists from Canada and the U.S. participated in the recording of the song, which celebrates 1000 years of Christianity in Ukraine and also looks forward to the next thousand years. The music was written by Andrew Czerny and Bill Kinal from the Veselka band, Montreal, Canada, lyrics by Orest Protsenko. The decision to perform the song at the Chervona Ruta Festival was quite impromptu with virtually no rehearsal, however as you can see from the reaction, the spirit and emotion of the song hit a strong chord with the audience. Performing are Luba Bilash, Andy Holowaty, Darka & Slavko, George Stasiw, Andrew Stasiw, and Victor Lishchyna, all of whom took part in the original recording, together with Claudia Polotnianka, Julian Kytasty, Victor Mishalow, John Stechichin, Steve Hodowany, Borys Boytchuk, Ron Demeda, Dave Telewiak and other artists. youtube/watch?v=UrkXe_KAUK0
