One of my guitars did not come with a case, and unfortunately its a shape for which cases arent very easy to find. I found someone selling one on the local Craigslist for about half of what theyre going for on eBay. There was a picture, but no description other than the price and a note that said this is half of what they go for on eBay (hes right, I checked). I emailed the following: Hi, why are you selling this and how did you come about owning it? Is there anything wrong with it at all, how old is it? Thanks! He responded: Rather personal questions don’t you think Does anyone else think my questions are weird? If hes selling it because hes hard up for cash, thats something I want to know so I can negotiate harder. If he stole it, thats something I want to know, so I know not to buy it. If theres something wrong with it, thats something I want to know so I can decide if I still want it and how much less Im willing to pay for it. And I want to know how used it is, since its clearly not new from a dealer. Oh, Craigslist. You sure are entertaining sometimes.
