One of my more extravagant filigree pieces, with an opal I cut in it. The filigree is done by cutting and shaping each piece of flat wire(has a textured pattern in it), shaping it by hand into scrolls, and soldering it with a propane/air torch(similar to a plumbers/hardware torch). The other stones in this piece include Russian druzy pyrite and two fancy sapphires. The only stone I cut though was the opal.
