One of my most boneheaded moves in 35 years traveling. Walked off the SkyTrain at SFO and left my rolling duffel on board. Turned in time to watch the doors slide shut and the train glide away. Running, panic, security. Was advised to go back up to the platform and wait, maybe it will come back around. After 23 minutes the train bearing my bag glided up again and there it sat, unmolested, having made a complete circuit of the San Francisco International Airport. Made my plane with 1 minute to spare. For once I was extremely happy that airport security was sleeping on the job - they were as sleepy as I was. Lesson learned: NEVER leave the house without a cup of coffee first.
