One of my on-the-job training trips with Flobird took place after we left New Mexico. I had only a little money and a ‘59 Chevy truck with a camper shell and mattress in the back. It also held my painting equipment, consisting of a couple of five-gallon buckets, a few paint brushes, and rollers. Flobird and I left with very little money. We were gone for a little over a month on that trip, leaving New Mexico and ending up in Florida. From there we went to Virginia Beach, then back to New Mexico. Wherever we went, painting jobs would just come to me. This was the mid-70s, and I ended up making over $800 on that trip, which was a huge abundance to me in those days. We kept showing up and carrying the message of recovery. Flobird said, “Show up, be available, and you will always be provided for.” These early days on the path with Flobird taught us that in the moment we are taken care of, right here, right now. We would strike a match and the candle would appear. I really believe today that it is okay to have abundance in your life. (The Mindful Addict @Amazon)
