One of my priorities that I have spoken about from the beginning of my campaign is the need to restore the bond of trust between Albertans and their elected officials, and for government to be transparent and accountable. I have been clear that if I am elected leader of the PC party and Premier, I am committed to a full review of all government appointments. Teachers and doctors have been asked to adhere to a wage freeze because of budgetary pressures. I do not support lifting a legislated wage freeze for government management after just over one year, without a comprehensive review of government appointments. Any government I lead will always act in the best interests of tax paying Albertans, and would reinstate the legislated management salary freeze until a full review is complete.
