One of my very favorite scenes.... "...I glanced over to the main table where Elissa sat, watching my every move. “I will agree to your terms… But first you must tell me something.” “And what would you have of me?” Graggerden queried. I glanced to the girl again, taking notice of Avinulaud with a fresh glass of wine in his hand. Good boy. Upon looking back to the King, I raised a hand to trace my fingertips down his cheek, drinking in the intoxicating flawlessness of his features. I watched the cold lava of his eyes reignite with an intense fervor as he settled in against my touch. I traced my finger over his lips; my own heart quickening as I felt his breath cresting over my hand. The King’s eyes started to close as he relished in the delight of my touch, and when I knew I had him where I wanted him, I reached to draw his face down to me, resting my lips lightly over his. “How will you explain this to your lady-friend?” I whispered against his mouth before laying the lightest of kisses to his lips and then drawing slowly back as Graggerden lingered on the edge of his fully exposed emotions. I withdrew from his grasp and walked away, the King turning his eyes to watch me as I moved to collect the wine glass that was waiting for me in Avinulaud’s hands. I smiled kindly at Elissa who sat with an irate expression as I took a drink from the glass in my hands then promptly threw the leftover contents in her face. The girl stood up and screeched as I headed for the door where Roshnukray planned to intercept me. I glanced back to Graggerden who wasn’t too far from us. The entire room was watching; waiting for his next move..."
