One of my very favorites. If anyone doubts Kubricks genius, watch this documentary. Its impressive as hell. I grew up during the wane of the Cold War (the film depicts tensions at its height), but the threat of a Soviet nuclear attack was still very real, and a hot political issue until the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the rise of radical Islamic terrorism took center stage on the global geopolitical scene. I cannot imagine how a viewer in their twenties reacts to this film except perhaps as a humorous period piece, like how I might feel about watching, say, Mrs. Miniver; The prevailing real world fear isnt the same. Would that the fear of terrorism goes the way of fear of imminent nuclear annihilation...
