One of our Chapters in Korea (Anyangkwanak Chapter) hosted and sponsored a Group Wedding for 10 couples on October 28, 2014. PTPI Korea National Headquarters Chairwoman Dr. Gil Youn Kim, Chapter President Mr. Bog Man Park, other chapter presidents, chapter members, local dignitaries (such as the Mayor of Anyang), and family members of the couples attended and celebrated the wedding. Korea National Headquarters wrote to tell us more about the event: The couples had actually been married for many years without a wedding ceremony, mainly due to poverty. Social changes in Korea have led to an increase in multicultural marriages. Matchmakers often arrange for brides to come to Korea from other Asian countries. Many brides have difficulty adapting to their new environment due to language, cultural differences, and low income. Therefore, our chapters have been taking care of them. Group weddings for these couples are one of our chapter activities.
