One of our dissertation students from last year, Tom Gammage, has recently gotten back to us and let us know he managed an astounding 95% mark. Thats the highest dissertation score any of us have ever come across, so huge congratulations to him. Tom did his project with us on fish fences at our Hoga site in Indonesia, and goes to Plymouth University. His project was part of a long term Operation Wallacea study into the unsustainability of fish fences in the Wakatobi, which is hoping to improve the long term food security and financial stability of Indonesian island communities, while at the same time protecting coral reef biodiversity - we like a challenge! On average, 55% of volunteers doing their dissertations through us get a First, with 92% in total getting a first or a 2:1.
