One of our followers has had a near miss at the traffic lights outside the post office in the High St. Here is her message: The red light had stopped the traffic and the green man was lit up for pedestrians to cross. The 2 outside lanes had stopped at the lights, but the middle lane was free. I have lived in Epsom for 13 years, and am aware how dangerous this crossing is, so kept an eye as I crossed with my 7 year old son. I noticed a car coming down the middle lane, quite fast, and was aware that it wasnt going to stop. I pulled my son back and the car went straight through, but had to stop outside the Vodaphone shop at the lights as there was another car stopped there. I was quite shaken up, and I have seen this happen so often. I am also a driver and am aware how confusing this junction can be. I think the council need to do something about this crossing before it is too late. I would hate to read about a serious accident, or even a fatality before something is done. I am going to approach my local councillor, but wanted to find out if anyone else feels the same way as I do? What do you think?
