One of our instructors witnessed a motorcyclist come off his bike at high speed during their journey to a course in the early hours. Our instructor blocked the carriageway(fended off), assessed the casualty who was unconscious, vomiting and fitting, which was likely a result of the head injury... Our instructor removed the motorcyclists helmet, cleared the airway, placed him into the recovery position, kept him warm and monitored while waiting the arrival of the calvary. While waiting our instructor found the motorcyclist was carrying ICE, stating he was allergic to Morphine, taking Warfarin and a contact number for his next of kin(NOK), which was passed to the calvary on arrival. A life saved!
