One of our major London contracts, providing cleaning services to an international IT company has been undergoing a major refurbishment so we took the opportunity with the client to review service provision. This revealed that the long established evening cleaning service was invisible to many staff, whilst those that did work late were being disturbed by it. In a radical reorganisation it was decided to reduce the number of out of hours cleaning staff whilst at the same time doubling the full time presence during the day. This really improved the profile of cleaning in the building. We also took to opportunity to invest in the latest vacuuming and floors scrubbing technology to enhance both standards and productivity. In addition all day Housekeeping Staff have been provided with new smartphones, allowing them to review conference room bookings and respond quickly to any service requests. Four weeks in and with a fantastic new bespoke uniform the client perception has dramatically improved and we have raised the standards of a good contract into one of our flagship sites.
