One of our many success stories: “I have worked for two years, without being allowed to go to school. I worked 16 hours per day, without help or breaks. I suffered from migraines and had a lung infection. My employer told others that I had been possed by an evil spirit since I was 7 years old. She never took me to the hospital for treatment. After a long time I asked for her permission to visit my mother, but she refuses to let me go. I decided to go anyway. She followed me all the way to my hometown to bring me back. But just before this could happen I met an officer of het ANPPCAN (African Network for the Prevention and Protection Against Child Abuse and Neglect, Terre des Hommes project partner). When she heard my story she called the police. ANPPCAN told me my rights and gave me advice. They reunited me with my family and my education.“
