One of our valued members has sent this email to me. Everyone is requested to kindly go through it and comment. ****************************** Sir, I am inspired by your group Twin city Cuttack Bhubaneswar FB group to write this to you. Hope you will post articles related to this in the group. You can see every state capital is having duronto trains to Mumbai except Bhubaneswar ex (Hyderabad, Ernakulum, Allahabad and Jaipur). How many duronto trains starting from Bhubaneswar with what frequency. There needs to major awareness created through FB group so that our Odia culture will move ahead. Bhubaneswar is going to be a city of rich people not for normal people where people will find large infrastructure like to stay at cheap cost by means of travelling, for example I am giving local train services like Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and even Pune (also Kanpur to lucknow) is having local city train by means of travelling at low cost for middle class people. The reason for all the things that how the big railway infrastructure can change the total scenario of Odisha you can never imagine. There is general theme in our state that we simply born here to study here and settle down some place outside our state. How the big infrastructure can change the scenario you can never imagine. There are a lot of big hotels like Le Meriden, JW Marriott, Westin, ITC, and Hyatt regency, Sheraton, Hilton, Taj, Oberoi, Leela Palace, and Radisson Blu yet to have foot mark in Bhubaneswar already present in Hyderabad and Kolkata, Chennai. The better is the railway communication the better business come to Bhubaneswar. How many people have the capacity to travel on flight even first class train is cheaper than that and more comfortable. The same is the for Bhubaneswar airport till now no international flights. Even the chief minister of our state and his party members are putting demand for trains but every time for last 5 years there demand is not fulfilled. Every other state is getting which proposing demand is getting fulfilled except Odisha. The main reason can be current 4 platform station Bhubaneswar cannot even handle current train strength easily how it can accommodate new trains. The place Bhubaneswar has great significance like other places like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Mumbai. Looking at the current expansion the city should have dense local train service infrastructure along two main stations having 15 to 20 platforms each looking for future expansion of the city. Latest news from railway minister Mr. Khrage Bangalore will going to have third main station along with Bangalore city, Yesvantpur. It will be Yelhanka. Whatever may be situation the culture of people is depicted by this facility? Even now the main question is “Can Bhubaneswar be ever have two large stations with each 10 to 15 platforms minimum”. From the station it-self it can give a feel of metro city not high rise buildings. The AC buses started plying on Bhubaneswar roads according to Delhi format is only higher class people not middle class people who can afford it. This is major reason of migration Odia people from our state to other place. If you have travelled local trains in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai then only you can feel it. Correct depiction of my letter on the FB group will create certain impact on Odisha, even in small amount is necessary for Odisha. At least what our politicians are doing is simply filling their pocket with money of public in our state there are lot examples. How come they are demand is not getting fulfilled by Govt even after demand by BJD leaders. Comparison of some important parameters of our state with West Bengal with US you can find because maximum communication through our state to them by railway, road. ITC, Britannia, Coal India Ltd headquartered in the city only NALCO in Bhubaneswar. Allahabad bank, UCO bank, United Bank headquartered against 0 in Bhubaneswar. Each of south Indian states like Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala, even Mumbai is headquartered to most of the banks not even single nationalized banks in Odisha. Public transport is provided by the Kolkata Suburban Railway, the Kolkata Metro, trams, and buses where in Bhubaneswar by only buses. Three large stations Howrah (26 platform), Sealdah (19 platforms) and Chitpur (5 platform) against Bhubaneswar of 4 platforms only. The city serves as the headquarters of two Indian Railways regional divisions—the Eastern Railway and the South-Eastern Railway against East coast railway in Bhubaneswar which again under pressure to get shifted to some other location. Other popular English-language newspapers published and sold in Kolkata include The Times of India, Hindustan Times, The Hindu, The Indian Express, and the Asian Age against times of India and New Indian express. As the largest trading center in East India, Kolkata has several high-circulation financial dailies, including The Economic Times, The Financial Express, Business Line, and Business Standard as against business standard and economic times. 48 Govt hospitals and 10 Medical colleges in Kolkata alone against how many you know better. If the comparison has been done with any southern big cities like Chennai, Bangalore. Ernakulum, Mumbai then it will be much bigger than this. The choice is yours how you depict this in your FB group. There is another news of encroachment activity by west Bengal officials at the border villages of Baleshwar. Even mamata Banerjee has started campaign for his party from Baleshwar. There will some time when Balasore will merge in west Bengal. Naveen Pattanaik can’t understand these things because he brought up in Delhi same Jay panda who is having highest FB followers in Odisha. There is brief Comparison Of railway infrastructure of Odisha and West Bengal. There needs to major awareness to be created for lacking railway infrastructure in our state. Where ever you will go all over India there is memu service except In Odisha? There is urgent need of MEMU Service between Cuttack to Bhubaneswar as there is major transportation stations. MEMU services to other places is also required. The railway bridge between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar has not been completed for last 8 years or more. The major stations like Balasore, Rourkela and Jhrasuguda are not under East coast railway. Why East coast railway is not trying to bring back all these stations under itself. Why these stations ruled under south eastern railway, Kolkata? Stations are in our state but revenue goes to West Bengal. Looking at Bhubaneswar new railway station it is a place of laughing? If you can see Nearest big city Howrah Kolkata is having 23 platforms and Chennai central has 15 platforms Sealdah in Kolkata has 18 platforms, Kharagpur has 10 platforms being a noncapital city compared to above Why it is going to have only 6 platforms initially later can be modified to 8 platforms. Current Bhubaneswar station is having 4 platform only. Why some of major trains like aurobindo express is not stopping in Cuttack? Since it is major stoppage. Some other trains are Howrah- Pondicherry, Prashanti nilayam, Kanyakumari, Thiruchirapalli and New Jalpaigudi- Chennai, Guwahati- Chennai, Dibrugarh-Chennai central are all superfast express. Another most important point need to answered by railway officials that why Rajdhani express, Purusottam express, Nandan kanan, Nilanchal express is going to Kharagpur even it is not under Odisha. Why there is so much Love and affection for Kharagpur, west Bengal. There is wastage of 30 minutes at that simply going there and changing loco direction. Wherever you go throughout India there are regular trains to Mumbai which is financial capital of India. This is serious question “How many daily trains run by ECor to Mumbai. There are four trains from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai out of which only two weekly trains are from East Coast Railways. Rest two among which Konark Express is of Central railways. Only this Odisha government has made special demands regarding new trains to Mumbai as per other cities of Bhubaneswar size the no of super-fast trains should be minimum 3 daily trains of superfast type comparison to Howrah. You will pleased to know Gitanjali express from Howrah to Mumbai daily is under ECor railway jurisdiction from (indiarailinfo). Currently there are 4 trains from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai. Out of which, Konark Express which is somewhat mail or passenger like which stops in most small stations of Andhra Pradesh. Matter of serious concern is most important station like Balsore Bengali pronunciation (Baleshwar, Odia Pronunciation), Barbil Keonjhar station, Rourkela, Jharsuguda are not under its control. There is a Jan Shatabdi from Howrah to Barbil not from Bhubaneswar to barbil. From Baleshwar to till Cuttack stretch do not have any trains directly connecting to Mumbai/Pune, Same case for Paradeep to Cuttack Stretch. For state like Odisha where people are very laborious than any part of country communication matters a lot for economic development of people. Don’t consider this letter as providing advice to people. But look at it as a real fact. There is jansatabdi runs from Howrah to barbil so that people from Howrah come to barbil to make business and make money and return to Howrah. In a small state like Kerala, other states like Karnataka, Maharashtra where Jan Shatabdi train runs with in state to provide faster communication between your own people. As Bhubaneswar is increasing there needs to look for local city train service between Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri. Govt needs to plan this from much beginning so that there is no problem in future for acquiring land for any infrastructure based project such as Metro rail and local train service within city and outskirts. But the Jansatabdi train run by ECor connects Bhubaneswar to Howrah along with Shatabdi express same time which runs from Puri to Howrah. There is a need of a jansatabdi train from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela and also to barbil. It happens that there is major problem in understanding the need of people our state while planning. There are certain brainless people who are forming policies for our state don’t know the actual problem of the people of our state. Yours Amlan Patel ****************************************
