One of the Fruits (Attributes) of Gods spirit is Joy. Do we understand that is not a 24/7 occurrence? It is found in the definition, to be, more than that , it is, also, life as we experience it. We do not have joy when we see the awful things that are happening in our world. The pain we see our children going through, a murder, death, cancer, diseases, crime of all kinds and failing marriages, and on and on! Gal 5: 22 tells us that a Fruit or, the way God is, is Joy! The definition, however, tells us it is according to the 1. Cause, or 2. Occasion! Hew 12:11 When we are being Chastened it is not joyful! And James says..There are times when we need to be : Be afflicted...To Mourn...And Weep...To let our Laughter be turned to mourning...And your Joy to heaviness! Paul speaks of a Joy that is set Before Us. So when there are times, Joy is not present, do not feel guilty, or that you do not have, the Fruits of Gods spirit . There will be Joy in the future 24/7....And it is Set to occur! But for now it is according to the , Causes, or, the occasion! Another Thought
