One of the ONLY posts I will make this school year on this subject. I find problems with the common core reforms, but I get ill reading what others say about it when they dont seem to understand the basics about what common core is. And incidentally, for all those who are horrified at what they believe is the terrible curriculum that common core has brought in, CC is not a curriculum and we have had stupid, weird, and inappropriate curriculum that was written by companies for state standards (which is what we had before common core standards) but I guess yall were not aware if that. Been around as long as Ive been teaching. And NO school district that I have ever worked in had bought and used that curriculum either. We have always had the freedom to choose and purchase our own adopted curriculum. Rant over.
