One of the best people I ever met as a result of marrying my husband, was Grandma Ham. We had some of the best talks, ever. A couple of years ago, I would occasionally go out to Yucaipa and pick her up... we would go to Oak Glen and sit and have sandwiches and apple pie. And talk. She told me about her life. She looked at my old family photos (some from the 1860s!) and tell me how people were related (my grandparents and all of their siblings) and what year it was just based on clothes and facial structure. She knew her genealogy. I loved looking through her albums and how she had traced her family back through so many generations. I loved hearing her stories of dancing an Irish jig as a little girl. One thing I knew for sure was that she had made her peace with her life and was ready to go whenever it was her time to go. I was truly blessed to know Grandma Ham.... 92 years on earth.... rest in peace and well always love and remember you!
