One of the best things about buying then restoring an old house is seeing progress. When we took possession it had a leaky old dishwasher. Weve had several dishwashers over the years never made good use of them so we decided to toss the old one out. I made what I call a slidey-thing to hold pots, pans and dish clothes. I bought the best-looking fir then biscuit-joined it together, sanded, varathaned many times and put it on top-quality sliders. Found old doors at Habitat for Humanity recycle store. Painted them and used old hinges and handles. Looks pretty good if I do say so myself. Ann loves showing it off, especially when she pushes it closed and it slowly tightens up the last couple of inches.
