One of the biggest irony of democratic discourse in India today - TopicsExpress

One of the biggest irony of democratic discourse in India today happens to be that the rise of a Political Thug leads to the rise of similar characters from the opposite camps and unfair marginalization of the moderate and unifying political leaders across the political spectrum. For Instance, the Rise of Narendra Modi has lead to the revival of Laloo Yadav and marginalization of Nitish Kumar in Bihar. Similarly, while Mulayam and Mayavati are comfortable, Congress is completely marginalised in U.P, In Tamilnadu it has lead a lease of life to anti-national (pro-LTTE) and anti-Dalit forces like MDMK and PMK respectively, in Assam the biggest Thug Prafulla Mahanta is jubilating and so on.... There may be variance in degrees of the impact but the trend remains the same: Rise of one Thug leads to the similar rise of Thugs across the political spectrum and the unfair marginalization of moderate and unifying forces.
