One of the biggest issues at this time of year is colds and viruses knocking people of their health kick. So how do you survive when your ill and not fall off the wagon. 1. Nobody ever cured a virus by eating junk food so do not use it as bs excuse. 2. Hydrate with water,herbal teas and coconut water. 3. Eat gut healing food to help the immune system. Kefir yoghurt,drinks ( coconut if dairy sensitive), coconut oil, dark chocolate ( 85 percent coco) home made broths. 4. If appetite is low and struggling with animal protein increase your quiona intake. Eg quiona porridge or quiona salad. 5. Boost your antioxidants with some home made smoothies. Here you can throw in fruit,veg as well as oils such as coconut oil to boost your energy. 6. Eat more carbs when under the weather. So do not be afraid of rice,rice pasta,potatoes to boost your energy. Do not decide to use it as an excuse to eat wheat pasta,ready meals, bread ( gluten) 7. Do not exercise with amy intensity. If you feel a bit of stuffy nose a walk for 20 minutes may help. But no working out until fully recovered. 8. Get to bed early, your ill so do not stay up late watching tv.In bed by 10. 9. Try some simple deep breathing relaxation drills before bed for 5 minutes to switch off. 10. Ride it out. We all pick up colds time to time. You rest recover and you go again. You do not get the violins out feel sorry for yourself and return to junk food and sitting on your arse.
