One of the biggest pet peeves I have is when people find out that - TopicsExpress

One of the biggest pet peeves I have is when people find out that I spend my weekends traveling with a band and then immediately ask do you make any money doing it?. The short answer to that is sometimes. The long answer is that I am lucky enough to have a hobby that, for the most part, pays for itself. Most weekends I dont come home with extra money, but I also dont come home with less than I left with. Even more, I am able to travel over a large portion of the country with 3 guys I think a lot of, sharing our creation, without having to go broke doing it. How many of you get to see cities all over without spending your own money or suffering through business meetings? Now, let me ask you a question. Do YOU make any money on the weekends when you go fishing, hunting, golfing, etc. or just sit and passively watch sports as a spectator? Dont bother responding. I already know the answer. To clear some other things up... No, we dont spend our weekends drunk and/or high. We have a job to do, just like our careers during the week. We walk into venues with professionalism and keep our wits about us so that we can finish what we were hired to do. As addressed in the attachment, we dont spend our time trying to pick up girls. Frankly, there wouldnt be time for it, even if we were single. We drive all day, arrive at the venue a few hours before play time, perform our set, strike our equipment, get a very few hours sleep, and then get back driving to the next show. No, what we do is not the same thing as what your friend does in his cover project. These are two completely different worlds, each with their own benefits and problems. digitalmusicnews/permalink/2014/10/14/10-things-youll-never-understand-musicians
