One of the deepest and strangest of all human moods is the mood which will suddenly strike us perhaps while walking through Foote Homes, or while enjoying lunch at the PD Academy while the fragrance of rotting garbage consumes our senses as it drifts on the summer breeze from Green Hill Stadium, the feeling that every Crackhead or Dope Boy, has just uttered something stupendously direct and important. There is a certain poetic value, in this sense of having missed the full meaning of life these things bring to us. There is beauty, not only in wisdom of the living in Memphis, but in this dazed and dramatic ignorance of local politics. From the files of the Gunpowder Revolt II
