One of the few times I’ve heard God speak directly to me for certain was a few years ago at the mall. I always park near Dillard’s and a space was empty right on the front. I parked my car and immediately heard in my spirit something like, “This space is not for you.” The Words didn’t form exactly like that, but I knew God was telling me to park somewhere else, so I did. After parking, I walked through the glass doors and happened to glance back and see who’d parked in the front space. It was Bud Mayfield, one of the sweetest, godliest men who ever lived. I saw his snow white hair and distinct cheek bones, and smiled, hoping someday I love the Lord so deeply like Brother Bud that God saves parking spaces for me. “The Greek word for ‘cheerful’ is related to our word ‘hilarious.’ So in that sense, God loves a hilarious giver.” ~ Bud Mayfield
