One of the hardest, ugliest court processes I ever sat through was the bail hearing for Richard Suter, the man who allegedly drove his car through a SW Edmonton restaurant patio, pinning and killing a little boy. Suter was and is charged with impaired driving. But at the bail hear, the dead childs family were beside themselves with grief and fury. The judge had to have at least one escorted from the court. Ive never been in a courtroom with such a threatening atmosphere. Today, we learned that police were investigating the abduction of Suter from his home.
