One of the issues with Pan-Africanism and Black people in general - TopicsExpress

One of the issues with Pan-Africanism and Black people in general is that we seem to look for and wait on and seek a messianic figure to lead and escort us to the promised land. I think that this is one of the defects in our culture--the apparent need for a great leader. It may be our greatest flaw. And the enemies of African liberation well understand this. Thus, COINTELPRO, perhaps even the recent death/murder/assassination of the grandson of Malcolm X. One of our greatest Pan-Africanists--Dr. John Henrik Clarke--used to say, "Bury the man and continue the plan." And as callous and cynical as this may sound, it may be the way to go. Bury the man and continue the plan. And then we must ask ourselves, "What is the plan?" Do we even have a plan?
