One of the main objectives of my production company Brutally Honest Productions is not just about introducing movie goers to a film that is entertaining, informative, and unique. It is also about diversity. Diversity comes in many ways. Diversity of actors who come from different cultures, different backgrounds, different life experiences. And these very actors will be casted into characters roles that covers all that I have said above. When I workshop my screenplay with my actors on the 3rd Saturday of the month. I see my ideas come to life and I count myself lucky to have a group of actors who listen to my instructions, communicate effectively with me, and always bring a positive attitude to every workshop that they attend. And to top it all off, these are actors from a diverse range of cultures. Nobody judges one another based on race, no one labels another in a negative manner based on the shape of their eyes or the colour of their skin. We are all one big happy family, and we will continue to be that way as my workshops progress and it will be no different when it is my time to stand on set and call Action. Many if not all viewers who saw this wouldve been shocked and appalled that such an unusual facet of life was taking place within our shores. It was only natural for Filmmaker and Film Lecturer, Pearl Tan to go rant about it in a recent Facebook post. But in my opinion, regardless of what race you are, no one should feel uncomfortable inside their own skin. And there are people of many cultures who need to step up to the plate and lead by example.
