One of the many reasons Yoko Kanno is my favourite composer. She occasionally delves into minimalism, and when she does its very much my sort of minimalism - what one likes to call impatient minimalism haha. Itll establish a musical pattern that continually repeats throughout the piece, but itll quickly build layers and layers over the top of that, so theres constant development and movement going on.
