One of the most common questions I get from people is what and how often should they post to the social media channels for their business. My recommendation is to post at least 2 to 3 times a week, with a mix of 3 different types of posts. Think PIE: 1. Promotional (about getting them to buy something) 2. Inspirational (about inspiring them to stay engaged, like a customer testimonial, a photo, or inspiring quote) 3. Educational (teach them something that shows you are the expert) Frequency of posting may vary based on your company I would err on the side of more frequent posts, as long as they are on point and true to your brand. This is particularly true on Facebook, where only a fraction of your posts are even seen by your followers of a Company Page, unless you are paying to boost your post through advertising. So the more often you post, the greater the chance your customers will see it and want to engage with you. Get creative with what you post A photo of a customer (with their permission of course) is always popular. A short video sharing an educational point is a great way to reinforce that you are the expert. Ask your followers a question that they can’t resist answering. Share a quote you love that tells more of a story about you, your brand, and why you love what you do. Think of these channels as a great way to create a conversation—not just a one-way push of information.
