One of the most harmful and Biblically inaccurate phrases used - TopicsExpress

One of the most harmful and Biblically inaccurate phrases used today is: Dont judge! Here are four quick examples of what the Bible really teaches us. 1. Matthew 7:15-17 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly are ravenous YOU WILL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.” Jesus did not say “No tree is perfect, so don’t judge anyone.” Jesus is teaching us how to judge correctly. 2. Titus 1:6 “Appoint elders in every city as I directed you. Here’s how you judge them. He must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion. He must be above reproach as Gods steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain.” He didn’t say “No Christian leader is perfect so don’t judge.” Paul is teaching us how to judge correctly. 3. 1 Cor 6:1-6 When you have a grievance against another, do you get someone other than a Christian to help you judge? If Christians will judge the whole world why cant you figure out trivial matters? Do you not know that youre going to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life! So if you have any issues, big or small, why do you lay them before those who arent Christians? You should be ashamed. Is it possible that none of the Christians around you are WISE ENOUGH TO JUDGE? As the last verse says, judging is a reflection of wisdom, not arrogance. 4. Heb 5:12-14 “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment TRAINED BY CONSTANT PRACTICE to distinguish good from evil.” If judging is forbidden, Paul would not teach us to practice and train to do it really well. He even says it’s a sign of maturity. The Bible doesnt tell us not to judge. It actually teaches us the right way to do it.
