One of the most important things to protect as an artist is your gear. Especially on the road, taking a few precautions can save a show that would have otherwise not have taken place. You can’t work without them especially if you sustain a loss or damages. Can you readily replace an expensive piece of equipment? Can you afford to spend a fraction of the cost of that equipment for insurance so you don’t have to use your own funds to re-purchase your instrument(s)? We have seen bands put out of business when their gear had been stolen. How many times have you heard of a band’s gear being stolen? How many times have you seen a careless stage tech drop a guitar or keyboard? Being a professional musician is already a risky career move, don’t take on any more risks. Gear insurance is a necessary evil...get it!
