One of the most interesting and moving things I recently done is to speak on trade, business, and Make in India at JNU, which I noticed is still incessantly painted with slogans of how Mao is showing us the way. It was interesting because it was one delightful hammer blow for enterprise in the last citadel of Communist jargon-making in India. It was moving because unlike most people who speak about Communism in Delhis Chanel-smudged salons, I actually lived for 18 years under Communist rule in Bengal, where, among other things, my father was near murdered for failing to pay extortion money to the CPI(M) party cadre. That in 2014 a writer of business and economics, a champion of enterprise, a vocal proponent of the idea of sustainable business can talk about murderous Communist cadres and entrepreneurship at JNU is a small miracle. To sit in JNU and say that I know the murderous ideology that Communism becomes, I have seen it in Bengal, to say that I believe in enterprise, growth, development, the dream of a prosperous India - and to do this staring stubbornly at the graffiti of red terror, that to me is magic. https://youtube/watch?v=rwvkVLAU-Zc&list=UU_PKCJJCNhTXrJt5OhLqDzw
