One of the most moving songs Ive ever heard. The piano-violin - TopicsExpress

One of the most moving songs Ive ever heard. The piano-violin duet, the percussion, in every way this is a beautiful song. I am unable to find a translation into English from Wolof for this song. I imagine from the video that the song relates to those who lose their lives trying to leave Senegal for Europe. So many people in desperate situations in African countries who try to travel on boats from Senegal and from Libya to Europe to escape poverty, only to die at sea or live horrible lives as foreigners in Europe. Families are torn apart and mothers grieve their children who die when the crowded boats capsize. If anyone can translate from Wolof, here are the lyrics in Wolof: GUEDJ MAMBOULANE (BIS) Thiey borom gaal xam ngani guedj amoul bankass ndakh alalou adouna diarna yénayi yapp sounou aye doom té xamo foye téré ak gnome beugeu fathie gathié adouna diaral lène taylé sène bakène yé yé waw souma xamoni souma dougué sa gaal douma délousséti kone dinako sétate bou bakha bakh borom gaal thieye borom gaal ak yawmi di dougou gaal té ngéna dall té xamni dal yalla diékhoul refrain guedj mamboulane (bis) solo Ma samba laobé Ndiaye taye ma wakhla thi immigration clandestine africa métina gayi xiff nagnou guerre yi barrina lolou waye dieuli gaal gui dougou thi guedj gui lolou diaye sa bakane la Choeur ki mo nékk (thiey borom gaal mo nékk waw) ki mo nékk borom gaal ya nékk (néeeeeeeee ahn borom gaal) guedj mamboulane (refrain)
