One of the most popular ballads of the early 1970 was inspired by Canadian song writer, and singer Gordon Lightfoots divorce from Swedens Brita Inegerd Olaisson. Now 75, his baritone and 12-string accompaniment took If You Could Read My Mind to # 1in 1971 to top of the easy listening chart. His writing earned him Champion of the order of Canada--Canadas highest civilian honor in 2003 and the songwriter hall of fame.
