One of the most ridiculous and repetitive anti-immigration - TopicsExpress

One of the most ridiculous and repetitive anti-immigration arguments I see, and this is even proposed by some Labour and even Green people as well as others, is the notion that we Have too many people in the country for our public services and economic infrastructure to handle, and should therefore forcibly control population and/or restrict the flow of immigration. As an argument, that is fundamentally flawed. Immigrants contribute more in tax than the average British born citizen, according to every single available study. Its the fault of the state and its refusal to invest that tax revenue in additional infrastructure that is to blame, not immigration, or indeed population increase, which brings higher tax revenues that should be spent in the right way.
