One of the most salient and wide-sweeping anomalies from last - TopicsExpress

One of the most salient and wide-sweeping anomalies from last nights elections is the fact that in every district where they elected a republican over the democratic incumbent or challenger, those same constituencies of voters also even more resoundingly turned out in favor of raising the minimum wage. Even in elections where the republican challenger won with over 50% of the votes cast, the percentages of votes cast in favor of minimum wage increases was between 60-65% in most states. This is significant because prior to moving to the moderate middle to become or to at least seem more electable, republicans have come out against the idea of a minimum wage entirely much less in favor of a raise in the wage. So, the fact that even their own constituency disagrees with this sentiment should be a referendum against their position on minimum wage, but whether theyll see it as such is another question.
