One of the most shocking impacts of the livestock industry is that on our wildlife. Just one example is the way public land is managed in the US. The government sells public land -- at a fraction of the cost -- to cattle ranchers so people can feel good about eating grass-fed beef. As a direct result, the government rounds up wild horses and burros, forcing them into holding facilities where theyll spend the rest of their lives -- many separated from their families and unlikely to ever run free again. There are currently more wild horses in these government holding facilities (47,000+) than roaming free in the US (40,000). This should make you angry!
