One of the most wonderful things in all my trips was to see a 1 week old lion cub. Her mother, known as Floppy Ear was spotted walking down a road. She was heading in a direction that would take her to a location where my ranger Tristan suspected she might have a den. We followed her for about 35 minutes it seemed like she was on a mission. She headed to a dense area where there were lots of rocks. When she stopped walking, we found that she was in an area surrounded by rocks. Tristan worked hard to relocate the landrover so that we had a view of her....and the cub. The lighting was not great and the view was poor but I managed to get a few good shots and this is one of them. Canon 1D IV, Canon 100-400L, 310mm, ISO 640, 1/250 sec, f/5.6
