One of the other ways we used to store our food for winter time was in a root celler or a cold celler a good seller keep a constant temperature year round so great place to keep your potatoes your carrots your cabbage and other root vegetables also your wine and your Applejack my father and mother always filled our celler with all kinds of good stuff to keep our family going hundreds of quarts of tomatoes and pickles in jams and jellies of all flavors dad always made a barrel of hard cider every year that would knock your socks off this is still a wonderful way to keep the stuff you harvest your gardens fresh all winter long also or springtime the potatoes start to sprouts a little these are your seed potatoes plant in the springtime lets go for now tell me about your stories how you kept your food
