One of the posts holding up the roof of our outside area had rotted through - so today Doug and I and Cassie Kia trotted off to Bunnings for a replacement post (it is marvellous just what you can fit in a hatch). So Doug, who is fast approaching three score and fifteen (work it out!) and quite severely impaired on the right side of his body due to having two strokes and an inoperable brain tumour, spent the afternoon removing the rotted post and installing the new post, which he has accomplished. Doug has always been determined that he would not allow his disability to dictate how he would live his life. I am feeling very proud of him.
