One of the things I love most about the Dr Rev Martin Luther King was that he was reluctant, he made lots of mistakes, and he was not born whole into his ministry. But the call surrounded him and he gave up his modest plans and surrendered to the gift that flowed through him. And as he took on this work and learned his gift, those around him recognized his greatness and deferred to him. This was no simple matter but the complex workings of life in the spirit. We dont need perfection or faultless leadership. We just need the women and men who keep honest and true. And we need to remember that great works are not born whole, but rather grow and unfold and change everyone who sees the power moving within.
