One of the things I love most on the ultra adventures, is the spirit of fellowship which we live and the friendships that are created among participants. The challenge is a reality, and the competition is there in order to overcome each one, but in a unique environment! When I won the Badwater i created new friends, that forced me go back in the edition of 2014. My place on the podium was another, the podium athletes were different, but the friendship that started in 2013 grew stronger and challenges remain. One way of meeting is to compete in these ultra extreme challenges. Because we like new challenges we will joining us in one of these again! After more than 50° celsius in Death Valley on Badwater, me, Harvey Lewis and Grant Maughan, decided to find ourselves, again. Where, since our agendas are difficult to articulate? A radically opposite challenge, with almost 80 ° celsius thermal difference! The podium athletes of the 2014 Badwater, half a year later, we will meet us again, but on Arrowheah 135 (between the USA and Canada), about 220 kms before with snow and temperatures around -30 ° C. What matters? The ultra trail, the ultra challenges, the ultra extreme experiences, the ultra friendships. 40 missing days for the first evening of conversation! Uma das coisas que mais me apaixona nas provas de ultra resistência é o espírito de companheirismo que se vive e as amizades que se criam entre os participantes. O desafio é uma realidade e, a competição também está lá em forma de superação, mas num ambiente único! Quando venci a Badwater criei novos amigos, que, me “obrigaram” a voltar na edição de 2014. O meu lugar no pódio foi outro, os atletas de pódio eram outros, mas a amizade começada em 2013 ficou mais forte e os desafios continuam. Uma das formas de nos encontrarmos é competir nestes desafios ultra extremos, onde nos despedimos emocionalmente. Porque gostamos de novos desafios vamos juntar-nos alguns desses amigos outra vez! Depois dos mais de 50ºC no Vale da Morte durante a Badwater, eu, o Harvey Lewis e o Grant Maughan decidimos voltar a encontramo-nos. Onde, já a que as agendas competitivas são difíceis de articular? Num desafio radicalmente oposto, com quase 100ºC de diferença térmica! Os 3 primeiros classificados da Badwater 2014 meio ano depois voltam a encontrar-se, mas na Arrowheah 135 (entre os USA e Canadá), cerca de 220 km’s perante condições atmosféricas muito duras, com neve e temperaturas a rondar os -30ºC. O que importa? O ultra trail, os ultra desafios, as ultras experiências ultra extremas criam ultra amizades. Faltam 40 dias para a primeira noitada de conversa!
