One of the toughest things as a Christian is to try and do the right thing when the world is against you. What may seem right in mans eyes can be very wrong in Gods eyes. So when we (as Christians) try and do what is right and pleasing unto the Lord, people look at us like we have two heads! We may be accused of being a Jesus freak, being too rigid and need to loosen up. The world will belittle you and make you feel small and stupid, for trying to do what is right. The devil doesnt play fair and he wants to make the things we shouldnt do fun. If he didnt then there would be no temptation. Amazing sometimes to see how truly blind and deceived the world really is. The devil approaches us with exaggerated emphasis on the pleasure we can enjoy if we will sin. He is asking us to invest in something with promise of immediate return – but without telling us about the risk, the outcome, the ugly side! The devil is counting on the fact we will see the fun, the pleasure – the joy of satisfied appetite – and jump at that, acting impulsively. If you stop and think; if you inquire; if you look deeply and consider consequences – you frustrate the wiles of the devil. The devil wants us to act on the immediate pleasure of the tempted behavior. “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,” (Eph. 6:11). You stand strong no matter what friends, family, the world may say to you. You strive to do what is right in Gods eyes, in the end He is the one you will answer to and you will be rewarded for doing right in His eyes. Resist the devil and he will flee from you! James 4:7
