One of the trends I am seeing in the evangelical community that is disturbing is a real lack of mediation on scripture. Not just "getting your 10 minutes in" but soaking up The Word for all its worth. One of the reasons why is that meditation is viewed negatively , especially in our 140-character society, is that we are living in a culture where the value is placed not necessarily on being productive but just merely looking productive. Mediation on The Word is then viewed as anti-productive because it requires stillness. The analogy I will use is that some of my favorite meals are those that require the use of a crock-pot. The reason is that the meat has ampler time to marinate in the juices which generally results in a greater fullness of flavor. Such is not the case with a microwave. So, Christian the charge is be consistently marinating yourself in The Word letting the fullness of the flavor of holiness soak into every pore of your body. For this is where true transformation is found...
