One of the truly sad things I have learnt in my lifetime, is how venomous my fellow Scots can be toward anyone from their own community who has shown any level of talent, intellect or potential for success. I have never really considered myself particularly talented or capable, but Ive always been able to hold my own... whether giving a song, telling a story or offering a carefully thought-out opinion on something. For that, Ive been treated like a pariah most of my life. Ive had my working life undermined, been violently attacked, seen my home and family terrorised and been publicly pilloried without apparent reason or foundation. Ive had friends and family turn against me and spread nasty and unfounded lies about me. And this past few days Ive received several threats and been at the receiving end of a hate campaign of such astounding pettiness it can only be described as playground-style bullying. Too many Scots, rather than lifting their own kind on high, thrusting them forth for their abilities, supporting their own and championing their success... instead tear them down, rip them apart, gut them before they can do anything in return for their own communities. Self-destruction is a choice. My question is this... who is destroying Scotlands future? The one selling that nations history, culture and politics to the world... or those determined to destroy him? Jealousy and fear are primary motivators.
