One of those "person with autism" type moms spoke with me about a "group" she is starting, today. Her lovely daughter, who apparently does not speak (at least not while at Home Despot) and seemed to have no form of AC device, was with her. My kiddo was wanting to get away from the hammering noise there so I could not exactly start communicating with her daughter. Uncomfortable situation. Told her we were really more interested in inclusive experiences than separated "special" groups and that my son (who was communicating LOUDLY by then, his wish to be gone and get popcorn) was going to Boy Scout camp with his troop tomorrow so we really had to go, get errands done. And left. Tired of trying to educate.
