One of three historic homes in the block just north of Uptown - TopicsExpress

One of three historic homes in the block just north of Uptown Bills was cleared away today. Noels tree and Crane Service demolished the home on Christmas night and returned today to clear away the rubble. The three homes were built before the Civil War; the other two are in danger of demolition as well. Developer Hodge Construction wants to clear the entire 600 block and replace it with a large apartment complex. The demolished house was at 614 S. Dubuque and in recent years has been the home to a Kung Fu Studio. Uptown Bills is at 730 S. Dubuque.
