One of todays complaints from Kihei who was smothered in smoke early this morning: Description: They are burning again! The smoke woke me up...I thought the apartment was on fire. So, I ran out onto the lanai to make sure. Under the shadow of night, I just watched a cloud of red smoke creeping through the darkness across my world and engulf it. I now stand here in the threshold of my living room, and mere feet from where my child lays his head, fighting for screen time with carcinogenic black ash that is falling upon my phone as if it were moths attracted to its light. My eyes are starting to swell, being preceded by a scratchy throat...I can feel the start of pressure at my temples, soon I will have an incurable headache; my son just concured with a flemmy complaint. When the sun rises and my day is to begin, again, I will have a heaping, yet, scattered pile of blackened excrement of chemically infused soot to clean off my property...inside and out...this includes my pets; but, with no energey to do so because the sickness of the burn has invaded my body like charred ravenous locust. And, why?
